Presentation & Background

The client had been living with severe, debilitating fatigue since 2012 — a fluctuating but never-resolving pattern that had resisted multiple interventions over many years. Past stress, gut dysfunction and hormonal imbalances had all contributed to a sustained load on the system. By the time of assessment, the pattern was consistent with chronic stress physiology, impaired detoxification and reduced cellular energy production.

Presenting Symptoms

  • Long-standing severe fatigue with crash vulnerability
  • Persistent low energy and post-exertional crashes
  • Brain fog and poor concentration
  • Chronic digestive problems — bloating and constipation
  • Heightened anxiety and poor stress resilience

Root-Cause Findings

Rather than chasing individual symptoms, the assessment identified the systemic drivers that explained why recovery had previously stalled despite lifestyle efforts: the body lacked the biochemical and neurological capacity to stabilise energy.

  • MSQ score 70 — fatigue, hair loss, cognitive impairment, dizziness, anxiety, tinnitus, constipation
  • Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA): Slow metabolic pattern — high calcium, low magnesium and potassium. Classic exhaustion state. Severely reduced capacity for cellular energy production and detoxification.
  • Evidence of mycotoxin exposure and mould-related metabolites
  • Markers consistent with SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)
  • Elevated gut Secretory IgA — immune activation in the gut
  • Genetic variants affecting methylation, antioxidant capacity and detox pathways
  • Helicobacter pylori contributing to digestive and inflammatory load

The Programme

Rather than chasing isolated symptoms, the focus was on system regulation and restoration across four key domains simultaneously.

1. Nervous System Regulation

Daily limbic retraining, polyvagal practices, gentle breathwork and a consistent sleep routine were introduced to calm threat signalling, improve autonomic balance, and restore stress resilience. This was a clinical priority equal in importance to the dietary and supplement work.

2. Digestive & Gut Healing

An anti-inflammatory, easy-to-digest food plan was implemented alongside gentle microbiome support — reducing the immune activation in the gut that was driving systemic inflammation and energy depletion.

3. Mineral Rebalancing & Mitochondrial Support

Targeted magnesium and potassium to address the HTMA findings. CoQ10 for mitochondrial energy production. B12, creatine and antioxidants to restore cellular capacity. Everything personalised and titrated.

4. Lifestyle Foundations

Activity pacing, hydration, grounding and gentle movement were structured carefully to avoid triggering post-exertional crashes while building capacity incrementally.

Results After 6–8 Weeks

  • MSQ symptom score dropped from 70 to 8
  • Consistent daily energy — no more afternoon crashes
  • Clear thinking and greatly reduced brain fog
  • Normal digestion with no bloating
  • Dramatically fewer crashes after activity
  • Anxiety levels much lower; sleep significantly improved

This case shows how quickly energy and daily life can improve when nervous system regulation, gut health and mineral patterns are addressed together — instead of chasing individual symptoms in isolation.
